Just installed Chrome on my Mac and there are a few issues I'm having that I'm not having on Windows. 1) The Start page will not allow me to move the thumbnails. I drag them to the position I want and they immediately pop right back to the original position. I'm not doing anything different than I do on Windows and it works perfectly on Windows. 2) I'm having problems with saved passwords and Keychain. When I go to site that has the pass word saved in Keychain I get the message that Chrome wants to use keychain to access passwords. I allow it but chrome does not log into the site.
3) In the preferences I can't clear the options in the downloads section. I have selected certain file types to open automatically after downloads but I would like to undo that. The problem is in the preferences for Chrome the button to reset this is grayed out.2010-02-19 4) Full Screen doesn't work at all. C dwight.stegall 18/2/2010, 20:40 น. This is for windows. When I click on 'ALLOW' the Username and / or Password simply don't appear, and login fails. Strangely enough, on one site, when I used the back arrow to go back to the login page, they were there, and a reclick on Login worked. (Can't remember which site it was though) Anyone worked this problem out yet? PhillT 21/3/2010, 3:57 น. I'm not sure if my quick posts are making sense. I like to make complete, step by step, reproducible bug reports so software can be fixed. However I have no way to directly submit to a location that is guaranteed to get to an engineer, i.e.
A bug reporting system or database. So I'm not going to spend my time writing something that may be a waste of effort. If you are reading/listening, Google, you have some techie users who want to improve your, or dare I say OUR, software.
We may not be full-on developers, but we are good at QA. Give us a direct pipeline to you please! Anyway, ranting aside, I've discovered another tidbit to this. Since each tab is segmented to its own memory, I am being prompted for each one to unlock the keychain. What I did was have 2 tabs open for testing, and ignored the first request but allowed the second. The second window had a password filled in but the first did not - even if I refreshed.
Which tells me that it only checks for keychain access during certain events. I quit and restarted Chrome while keeping the keychain unlocked and had passwords filled in for both tabs. I want to operate securely by keeping the keychain locked, but I may need to keep it open the entire time the browser is open. Maybe just turning on the 'lock while sleeping' option will be enough.
